CBS orders three comedy pilots

CBS has joined the late-Friday rush of pilot orders, greenlighting three laffers, including one a from the Iron Man of pilot season, Greg Berlanti, and "Friends" vet Greg Malins. The untitled Warner Bros. TV project form Berlanti and Malins centers on a man who realizes after a health scare that he's in love with his femme best friend and business partner of 15 years. Malins and Berlanti penned the pilot and will exec produce. Project marks a rare foray into the half-hour realm for Berlanti, who has already landed three drama pilot orders this development cycle spread among Fox, CBS and CW. Another Warner Bros. TV project comes from "Will & Grace" alums Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. "Partners" revolves around two lifelong male friends whose relationship is like a weird marriage that is tested when one decides to get married. Duo will exec produce. Buddy comedy "Friend Me," from CBS TV Studios, was penned by Alan Kirschenbaum & Ajay Sahgal. It set among two twenty-something guys who move from Indiana to L.A. to work for Groupon.
